Honorees

In 2016, five women were recognized for their achievements and for also living their life in a way that embodies the mission of the former YWCA of Salina: to strive to create opportunities for women's growth, leadership and power, and assists in the physical and mental health and well-being of women and their families.  The 2018 event will recognize more outstanding women in the Salina area for their accomplishments.

Those honored in 2016 include:

  • Millie Bates-Moye, a retired teacher

  • Vicki Price, CAPS Education Director

  • Debbie Rivers, Salina Shares Executive Director

  • Brenda Stoss, Salina Municipal Court judge

  • Martha Tasker, City of Salina utilities director

For the first time, Women of Achievement also recognized a local organization, Women Helping Women, which offers financial grants or a helping hand to women in a crisis situation.
